Broken Rules and Empty Playgrounds

at the center of it all
we are just monkeys with
guns and money on a pale
blue dot falling through
outer space at speeds we
cannot even comprehend

all with vices all with
voices even the ones that
can’t speak and we have
eyes but some of us don’t
see the turmoil we’re in

playing children playing
god broken rules and empty
playgrounds have become us
and technology rules our lives

kill the machines and drown
the leaders to become aliens
we already are but didn’t know

take control of this organic
spaceship we’re all on together

at the center of it all

  1. Unity and acceptance, respect and equality, the engine we need to keep this ship from sinking the depths of selfishness. I loved the message in this poem. Very well written.

  2. I’ve only been on WordPress for around two years, give or take, but I’ve been writing for over 20 years. I have pages and accounts all over the internet for my poetry. Google+, Facebook, Twitter, AllPoetry, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, Blogger, Wix, Goodreads, Amazon, you name it I probably have a profile there. I also have four books published, run a small press company, and I’m working on my fifth book plus I already have ideas planned out for my sixth and seventh. I write multiple poems and short stories every day from morning until night, I’m a monster when it comes to writing, I take my work extremely seriously. It’s a full-time job.
